Optimise and Add extra storage on MoodleCloud

Modified on Mon, 7 Oct at 7:49 AM

Maximum file storage means the maximum for your entire MoodleCloud site. Depending on the selected MoodleCloud plan, it will go from 1GB up to 50GB.

  1. Here are some things you can do to keep your disk usage low
    • Delete files that are not being used.
    • Host files on other file storage sites, and then link them in Moodle using a Resource URL. You can also link a service using OAuth 2 services, such as:
    • Think about linking/embedding existing websites for your content instead of redeveloping it all from scratch.
    • Use Page and Book Resources (instead of uploading the information as PDF files).
    • Keep the quota for individual users down to something low, to encourage small file submission uploads.
    • Please note that files converted to PDF by Moodle will count towards your file storage limit in MoodleCloud.
  2.  If you still need extra storage, you can upgrade your plan in your MoodleCloud Portal or talk to your Moodle Certified Service Provider about hosting your own installation.
    • MoodleCloud plans maximum file storage means maximum storage for your entire site
    • The only way to purchase additional storage is to upgrade your plan.
    • We do not currently have the option for add ons such as extra storage for any of our plans.
    • Our largest plan for our MoodleCloud is our Standard Plan, it comes with 50 GB file storage and the individual file upload size limit is 250MB across all plans.
    • You can easily change your current plan at any time in your Portal.
    • To change your package or plan:
      1. Log in to your MoodleCloud Portal.
      2. Click the Change Plan tab.
      3. Click on the Upgrade button for the plan that best suits your needs.
      4. Add your payment details.
      5. Click on Pay Now.
    • If you require more on site storage than 50 GB, you can find your Moodle Certified Service Provider in the support tab of your MoodleCloud Portal.

*Once you move to a larger plan, moving to a smaller or older plan is not possible. Please refer to Downgrade to a smaller MoodleCloud plan.
