Your MoodleCloud site’s storage limits depend on the subscription plan you’re on, with storage quotas ranging from 1 GB to 50 GB. Here are some options to manage your site storage:
1. Here are some things you can do to keep your disk usage low:
- Delete unused media files.
- Host files on other file storage sites, and then link them in Moodle using a Resource URL. You can also link a service using OAuth 2 services, such as:
Host on YouTube. Any link to your videos will be automatically and seamlessly embedded in a course in your MoodleCloud site.
- Think about linking existing websites for your content instead of redeveloping it all from scratch.
- Use Page and Book Resources (instead of uploading the information as PDF files).
- Keep the quota for individual users down to something low, to encourage small file submission uploads.
- Please note that files converted to PDF by Moodle will count towards your file storage limit in MoodleCloud.
2. If you still need extra storage, you can upgrade to a larger MoodleCloud plan.
- MoodleCloud plans maximum file storage means maximum storage for your entire site.
- The only way to purchase additional onsite storage is to upgrade your plan - we do not currently have the option for custom plans or storage add-ons.
- Our largest plan for our MoodleCloud is our Standard Plan, it comes with 50 GB file storage and the individual file upload size limit is 250MB across all plans.
- If you require more on site storage than 50 GB, please reach out to our sales team for information about a larger, customised, hosted Moodle LMS solution.
*If you have have previously upgraded and no longer need the additional storage and user quotas, you can contact us to downgrade to a smaller MoodleCloud plan. *If you have any questions or issues, please contact the MoodleCloud Team.
