Our ready-installed Document Converter plugin, enables you to automatically convert an uploaded assignment submission to PDF format for teachers to grade and annotate.
Enable/Disable document converters:
- Go to Site administration
- Click Plugins
- Scroll down to Document converters
- Click Manage document converters
- Click on the eye icon to enable a document converter of your choice
Submission documents not converting:
- Please note that the document converter supports the following file types: doc, docx, rtf, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, html, odt, ods, txt, png, jpg, gif, pdf.
- If you are on a free site, and you disable the MoodleCloud Converter option, it’s possible that document conversions from other converters, such as Google Drive will fail. To resolve this:
- Enable the MoodleCloud LibreLambda document converter and make it a lower priority order than the converter you wish to use.
Grading an assignment
- To grade an assignment:
- Go to the Course
- Add an assignment activity to your courses,
- Add your assignment details
- Save and Display.
- This will allow your users to Add a submission and then Upload a file.
- This also generates an email confirmation that the user has submitted an assignment.
- Once a user has submitted an assignment for Grading, a Grade button will appear in the Course (for those users eligible to Grade).
- Optionally, you can turn on the Plugin Setting to notify Grader’s about submissions via email (this is set by default to No).
- Clicking on the blue Grade button will allow the Teacher or Administrator to add any of the following directly onto the PDF file:
- a grade,
- feedback,
- comments,
- stamps,
- highlight text, and
- draw freehand as well as lines and shapes
- Graded assignments will generate an email to the user who submitted the assignment, to let them know that it has been marked.
