Our ready-installed Document Converter plugin, enables you to automatically convert an uploaded assignment submission to PDF format for teachers to grade and annotate.

You can enable and disable the MoodleCloud Converter plugin on your MoodleCloud site here:

  1. Go to Site administration
  2. Click Plugins
  3. Scroll down to Document converters
  4. Click Manage document converters

The document converter supports the following file types: bmp, csv, dcr, doc, docm, docx, eps, gif, html, ico, jpeg, jpg, odp, ods, odt, pdf, png, pps, ppsx, ppt, pptm, pptx, ps, rtf, svg, svgz, swf, tex, tif, tiff, txt, xls, xlsm, xlsx.

Once enabled to add this to any course:

  1. Go to the Course
  2. Add an assignment activity to your courses,
  3. Add your assignment details
  4. Save and Display

This will allow your users to Add a submission and then Upload a file. See the image below for further reference (maximum of 1MB).

This also generates an email confirmation that the user has submitted an assignment.

Once a user has submitted an assignment for Grading, a Grade button will appear in the Course (for those users eligible to Grade).

Optionally, you can turn on the Plugin Setting to notify Grader’s about submissions via email (this is set by default to No).

Clicking on the orange Grade button will allow the Teacher or Administrator to add any of the following directly onto the PDF file:

  • a grade,
  • feedback,
  • comments,
  • stamps,
  • highlight text, and
  • draw freehand as well as lines and shapes

Graded assignments will generate an email to the user who submitted the assignment, to let them know that it has been marked.
