BigBlueButton video conference activity can be monitored in your MoodleCloud site logs or through BigBlueButton's Learning Analytics Dashboard.
1. MoodleCloud site logs
- BigBlueButton is an activity in Moodle.
- This means that activity in BBB can be tracked in your site logs.
- To access the site logs:
- Go to Site Administration
- Click Reports | Logs
- Select the Course (only if you would like logs for a specific course)
- Select the Participant
- Change All Events to Participating
- Click Get these logs
- In the logs for the user you'll find the events Meeting joined and Meeting left
2. BigBlueButton's Learning Analytics Dashboard
- The learning analytics dashboard offers real-time monitoring features to check student participation and engagement.
- To join the class and access the Learning Analytics Dashboard:
- Go to the corresponding BBB activity and click on Join session.
- Click on the settings widget near the user list.
- Click on the Learning Analytics Dashboard.
Once opened, you can check student joining and leaving times along with their talk time and much more during the session as shown below. For information regarding other features, you can check the BigBlueButton's site, however, please note that a few features may not be available in Moodlecloud.
*If you are having issues with your Learning Analytics Dashboard, we suggest you contact Blindside Networks, who own the feature of BBB plugin, by visiting their community pages or our Moodle Forum discussions on using BigBlueButton
*If you need it all in a central attendance register, you can look at the Attendance plugin that comes with MoodleCloud paid plans. This plugin allows teachers/students to record attendance.
