There have been a few issues in BBB that require some attention for a smooth experience.
1. Students can't see each other in BBB in MoodleCloud
- During 2020, Blindside Networks was seeing increased pressure on their servers to handle so many webcams. They’ve also seen students on low bandwidth getting disconnected when many other students in the session shared their webcams.
To reduce the overall load and to reduce the disconnects (which makes it hard for students to participate), they have temporarily enabled the webcam Lock Settings so students do not see other student's webcams.

2. BigBlueButton screen sharing requirements on MoodleCloud
- BigBlueButton will give you a choice of using either WebRTC or Java. Here are some important considerations:
- Using Java requires installation of Java runtime and you will need to download and run a Java applet each time you start screen sharing in your conference, so we recommend WebRTC where available.
- Only the presenter needs to have Java installed (to share their desktop).
- Firefox and Chrome browsers support WebRTC-enabled screen share.
- Screen sharing is currently not supported on mobile devices. To share a screen the presenter must use a desktop, laptop, or Chromebook.
- If the session is being recorded, screen sharing is included in the recording and will be viewable in the playback.
