Moodle LMS is free, open source software. There are 3 ways to get Moodle:

  • Self-hosting your Moodle LMS server: Moodle is free software for you to download, install and manage on your own server. There are never licensing costs or ads because Moodle is an open-source software project. Please keep in mind that this free download option will require both hardware and technical expertise in order to make it work securely online.

  • MoodleCloud (SaaS): This is our off-the-shelf LMS that's ready to go with Moodle's most essential features enabledMoodleCloud is a cloud-based software-as-a-service solution available on subscription. It is pre-configured and includes selected plugins; it's regularly updated and maintained for you; scalable and cost-effective. MoodleCloud has subscription plans with varying users and storage quotas (up to 1,000 users and 5 GB of storage). This is a great place to start exploring and experimenting with Moodle. It is also suitable for small courses or groups.

  • Moodle Certified Partners and Service Providers: They are a network of companies certified to provide premium, customised Moodle LMS and Moodle Workplace hosted solutions and services for a fee. They offer a range of services to support users with their specific needs, such as implementation, hosting, integration, custom themes and features, course design, support, training and more.

*If you need support or a large or customised solution, our Certified Partners and Service Providers are the best option.
